I first began my lessons with Professor Robert Stormowski when I was 13. At the time, I was living in Davao City. During that same year I joined the University of the Immaculate Conception Orchestra which was directed by Prof. Stormowski.

As his former student, I must say that Prof. Stormowski’s teaching style is comprehensive and has a keen ear for the tiniest details. During my time as his student, I grew not only technically, but musically as well. Every lesson was as engaging as it was enlightening, giving me the skills I needed to move further in my career as a violinist. Whether it was playing a Wieniawski Mazurka or a Bach Prelude, Prof. Stormowski’s versatile teaching ability taught me to fully grasp the characteristics of each piece. I wasn’t taught to play just the notes, but instead was encouraged to explore; to look at the style, character, and shape of each phrase.

When I moved back to the United States, I still continued lessons with Prof. Stormowski online, where he successfully prepared me for many of my orchestral auditions. Under his tutelage, I was chosen as the Concertmaster of the Jesuit High School Symphony and later served two years with the Sacramento Youth Symphony Premier Orchestra.

Professor Stormowski is an amazing teacher that was able to guide me into the musician that I am today.
